Nokia N1 become a hot cake in China!

Off

The Nokia N1 went on sale in China, and the Finnish company exhausted the initial batch of 20,000 units in record time. It only took four minutes and two seconds to go through all that inventory.

It looks like Nokia chose to go the flash sale route, perhaps inspired by Xiaomi’s success with this model. The next opportunity to buy the N1 will come on January 15, if you’re in China of course. Otherwise, you still have some waiting to do, as the N1 isn’t yet available anywhere else.

Aside from managing such great sales, the Nokia N1 is also busy crushing the competition in benchmarks. We saw it destroy the iPad Mini 3 in AnTuTu, and now Apple’s small tablet has had the same fate in another benchmark.

The N1 scored 589 frames in GFXBench’s Manhattan test, compared to 553 frames for the iPad Mini 3. In T-Rex, the score was 1,437 to 1,271, while in the 1080p T-Rex offscreen test the N1 got 1,691 frames and the iPad Mini 3 just 1,598.

Nokia’s new tablet runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and in China it’s been priced at CNY 1,599, which is around $257. International pricing should hover around $250 too. The slate has a 7.9-inch 2,048×1,536 touchscreen, an 8 MP main camera, a 5 MP secondary snapper, and it’s powered by Intel’s Atom Z3580 SoC, which comes with a 2.3 GHz quad-core CPU. The tablet has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, as well as a 5,300 mAh battery.
